Uni starts in less than a month – in the UK – and I can’t be more excited to go back! I wish it was my freshers year again though… I would’ve done a lot of things differently! I remember the day I started organising and trying to fit everything I had brought from Spain into my tiny uni halls bedroom. I would have been alright if I had actually brought the things I needed.
There are a lot of things no one tells you to bring to uni. It’s not like you can’t live without them, but they will definitely make your life easier. I ended up spending a lot more money than I needed to because I had bought a lot of pointless stuff.
Here are the uni essentials that will make your uni life a lot easier, and if you are not a Fresher, they will make going back to uni easier for you as well.
Manual Comb Binder (£45)
This can be useful for two reasons: if you have to hand in printed projects of papers and if you love making your notes look amazing. I have an obsession for cute notes and lecture booklets so I write everything in plain paper and then I turn it into a binder. This thing saved me a lot of money and trips to the library.

Pastel Highlighters (£3.75)
Along the lines of making notes look cute, these pastel highlighters are a game-changer. I hate neon highlighters because, in my opinion, they ruin all cuteness. Looking for an alternative, I came across these lovely highlighters and they are absolute uni essentials.
A4 Cream Notebook (£10)
As you can imagine, stationary and all things uni are really important to me. I try to keep a colour scheme and style and buy all my things in accordance. Last year was light pink and neutral tones, and this year I’ll probably go for the same. This stunning notebook is going straight into my uni essentials shopping list.

A5 Frosted Plain Notebook (£4)
I always have two notebooks with me: a plain notebook and a “normal” one. Depending on the lecture, I can take my notes directly into the “official” notebook and from there straight into the binder. I know I take notes really seriously – too seriously? – but it helps me keeping track of everything and actually wanting to spend time studying.

ByLaiaFeliu Student Planner 2020-2021
It is happening!!! This year I am putting together a Student Planner with all the cheat sheets and planners that I have been creating for myself during the past couple of years. Finding a planner that had everything I wished for was very hard or extremely pricey, so I started creating those things that I’d like to have on a Student Planner. Now all these things are for you!!
My Student Planner will be coming out on September 16th to the general public, but all my subscribers will have a HUGE discount + access to it on the 14th.
This Student Planner has more than 60 pages of content created to make your life a lot easier going back to uni. Weekly planners, grade trackers, goals, lecture and essay planners, calendars, EVERYTHING is in here!! This is going to be your #1 on your Uni essentials list!!

Water Bottle (£20)
Taking my hot latte to uni in the morning is one of my favourite self-care treats. My uni essentials list always starts with a water bottle or flask. I recently tried these my Mameido and I am obsessed. Apart from being absolutely stunning – 20 models to choose from – they keep my coffee warm for ages.
10ft Phone Fast Charger (£9.98)
Whether you are going back to uni or not, this is one of those things we all need to know. I break my iPhone charger 5 times a year approx. If that wasn’t enough, I forget to put my phone on charge most nights. This Charger pack is SO good. They charge your phone literally in minutes and are really durable. Plus it’s a 3 charger pack for less than £10, isn’t it amazing??

Kalidi Waterproof Backpack (£19.99)
I think I’ve talked about this bag in like 5 posts, but this really is a highlight on my uni essentials list. If I had the money to buy every single one of you one of these bags, I would. Everything you imagine and need fits in here, it’s comfy, waterproof, has a million pockets and the colours are lovely. And. The. Price. Go. Get. It.
Laptop Stand (£19.99)
This is one of those things that you won’t admit you love because it makes you feel old. I spend a lot of time in front of my laptop and my back was killing me. David – who loves all things stretching and postural health – almost obligated me to buy it, and thank God he did. Working on my desk is really comfy now and in a matter of a couple of months, my back pain is almost gone.
Kindle (£69.99)
This isn’t just a uni essentials product, this should be life essentials. It took me ages to finally get myself a kindle – I love the smell of new books, what can I say? – but it is so much easier. If you’re going back to uni, you know how many papers and books you’ll have to read, and I promise you a kindle is the best way to do it.

I hope you loved my personal uni essentials list! If you are going back to uni, congrats and good luck! If you are a Fresher, good luck, enjoy yourself and socialise!! And of course, do so with my upcoming Student Planner!

This is gonna sound a bit weird but I am a giant water bottle fanatic….. at least every 2 months I am deciding its time to get a new one, and those Mameido bottles are not in any way helping my strange addiction! The wooden one is sooooo cool, at this rate I think Im going to need some kind of intervention 😀
This is a great list! It makes me wish I was going to be on campus this semester. Lovely post!
Great suggestions! I love a good notebook and pretty water bottle! The laptop stand is definitely a good reminder
Wish I’d had this list when I was in school!
Ahh I wish I was based in the UK so I could get my hand on those beautiful cream notebooks! Couldn’t agree more with how life-changing getting a Kindle is, it has been revolutionary for my reading habits. Love everything about this 💛
