Outdoors season is arriving and it’s the perfect moment to get our gardens ready. Now that we have all this spare time in our hands why not renovating or improving our outdoors? With this patio decoration ideas, you’ll transform your space turning into an oasis to spend time with your loved ones this summer.
Focus on different garden decor ideas each weekend and by the time summer is here, you’ll enjoy a cocktail or two under the fairy lights in your stylish and smart yard.
1. Tall Greenery
One cheap and smart way to keep things interesting in your garden is adding plants in a variety of heights. If gardening is not your thing you can always use artificial trees and plants and it’ll still look amazing.
2. Outdoor Candle Lanterns
Illumination is key in spaces. It won’t be a problem during the day, but instead of just using boring lights at night, try these cute candle lanterns or apothecary jars to make it more stylish.
3. Patio Wall Decor
Outdoor wall decor is as important as interior wall decor. It’s a nice touch and gives a lot of character and edge.
4. An Outdoor Fireplace
If you’re on a budget or have a small outdoor space, this might not be for you. Fireplaces are just so cool and make everything look cocoony and cosy. I can’t imagine anything better than a September night around the fireplace with my family enjoying the last days of Summer.
5. A Fire Pit
This will make your garden look extra cosy and stylish. You can gather around it with your family and enjoy some quality time under the stars. Did that sound too cheesy?
6. Nice Tiles
Maybe it’s because I was born and raised next to the Mediterranean and I’ve spent a lot of time in Italy but I WOULD USE TILES EVERYWHERE. They are so stylish and you need so little decoration if you have a nice floor made of handpainted tiles.
7. Canopied Daybed
A canopied daybed is great for casual lounging and a really smart way to use space that otherwise would be dead.
8. A Comfy Hammock
Get a comfy hammock instead of a chair or lounge, add nice pillows, paint everything white and pretend you’re in Santorini. If that’s not #patiogoals I don’t know what it is.
9. Chair Swings
Chair swings are relaxing and comfortable and more visually intriguing than the average chair. Plus they have “Instagram moment” potential.
10. Patio Chandelier
Chandeliers add a lot of character and drama to spaces. I’m not a big fan of traditional and kind of classical pieces and that’s why I’ve given you my own version of a DIY and modern chandelier made with apothecary jars.
11. Outdoor Movie Spot
This outdoor space idea is designed for large yards. It doesn’t have to be fancy, and it would be really good fun to have a weekly film night under the stars.
12. Elegant Seating
Elegant seating will add personality to your garden and create a really homey kind of vibe. Plus bigger sofas mean more people that can come over for the afternoon tea.
13. Create A Patio Bar
Build a bar for more stylish entertaining outdoors. If you love throwing garden parties this will make your life easier since you won’t have to go inside every 20 minutes to grab things.
14. Build Your Dream Tree House
I spent my childhood asking for one of these and never got it and it’ll be the first thing I’ll build – or buy – in my future house. This could be your “alone” space if you don’t have kids or an excuse to have an “alone” space inside the house if you have them and want to send them there for the afternoon.
15. Fairy Lights
This wouldn’t be by Laia Feliu without fairy lights. Just look at the pictures and tell me that it’s not an incredibly cute and cosy space?
16. My personal picks
I would define my style as boho-chic for outdoors. Lots of textures, wall art, plants, millions of rugs everywhere and lots of cute lighting. I don’t know how that would work with my passion for scandi style but hopefully, we’ll see it soon.
Hope you enjoyed these patio decoration ideas and please leave me in the comments your favourite ideas!
