Being a student looking for a new place + new furniture in a low budget is hard. If you are an Interior Design student with really high standards and lots of ideas it can be hell. Thankfully, I came across Habitat’s amazing 50% off sale and I had to share with you my habitat favourite items.
They have hundreds of items at really good prices – even amazing sofas – and it’s making our process a lot easier. I haven’t included it here, but if you are a fresher student looking for Uni halls basics – bedding, cutlery, etc – it is worth having a look at habitat 50% off sale!
We are trying to go for a neutral look really focused on the mix of textures and light hues, but we want the place to have personality. Brass is a good option to make rooms look more expensive and it goes really well with neutral tones. This round brass mirror is perfect for the entrance or the living room.
This vase is SO elegant and glamorous. The mix of matt and shine works perfectly and it’d match perfectly with a golden photo frame right next to it. This is the definition of bold home decor.
If you’ve been around for some time you’ll know I love baskets. This set of 2 natural hand-woven baskets is perfect to add some extra storage without losing design. I keep them in the toilet for towels or in the living room for blankets.
We love our cheese and charcuterie nights. I had been looking for stylish serving boards for those nights or when friends and family come around and I am obsessed with these. They are around £20 – an amazing price for the design and quality of them – and you’ll find a lot of lovely designs.
Is it just me or this table has an amazing Great Gatsby kind of vibe? I don’t know if it’d fit with our style but I love it so much I’d change the whole living room around it.
This coffee table is so cute! It is also mushroom storage which would help a lot with keeping the space free of clutter. It is a really versatile design that can be used in the living room, bedroom or office and will complement most contemporary homes.
I am a sucker for velvet. Velvet makes spaces look sophisticated and elegant. From all my habitat favourite items, this chair is my number one. It comes in 5 different colours and I want all of them! The size and shape of this chair and its metal legs give it a contemporary and light look, making it ideal for smaller spaces.
I am really picky when it comes to bedside tables. I barely never like any of the ones I find and if I do like any they are always extremely expensive or too big. This dark wooden bedside table is really cute and it’d fit perfectly with the style of our bedroom. It has enough storage for all my books and bits and pieces which is also important.
This Ribbon Lamp is one of the best designer pieces I’ve ever seen. It is an award-winning item designed by Claire Norcross exclusively for Habitat and I can’t wait to have it in my living room. You can find it in different sizes depending on if you want to use it as a bedside lamp or small table lamp.
Black Velvet Pillow
I thought I wanted this really neutral, light and natural kind of look but I find myself looking at velvet, dark colours and glamorous pieces. This black velvet pillow has stolen my heart and I love the combination of it with pink and gold.
I love it when design and practicality come together in the shape of a lovely bench. A lot of houses have storage problems and Interior Design renovations can be pricey. Furniture with storage is the best option and a great opportunity to add personality to your house.
And at last but not least, my favourite item ever, a good rug. I will never get tired of saying that rugs change spaces completely. Adding textures is key to make a look come together and rugs are a good way to do it. This pink rug looks lovely and incredibly soft and I am considering getting it for every single room in the house!
I hope you love my habitat favourite items and don’t forget to check the habitat 50% off sale!
